I AM Multiplying The Harvest
Yes, Gleanings From The Book of Galatians.
We saw in our last discussion God’s plan for us in sowing. When, where and what to sow. That if we heed to his word and sow, whatsoever we sow, we shall reap, for He cannot be mocked.
Then we hear the apostle continue;
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
This is a very powerful verse. First it is generic “And let us not be weary in well doing”
Whatsoever good we are involved in, It could be sowing the word, it could be giving, it could be ministry, it could be showing mercy, it could be exaltation, it could be raising godly kids, whatsoever endeavour God has blessed us to walk in, we are admonished to not be weary in doing the good needed.
Why does the apostle admonish us not to be weary?
Because it is never easy. Every godly counsel demands selflessness. It is always a work of sacrifice. Time, energy and resources are always consumed.
Hence, continual sacrifice without knowing when to reap may be hard on us most times.
Sometimes it is as though the entire hell is loosed over us, and if we do not observe things through the eyes of faith, we may be tempted to think God has completely deserted us.
But we hear the apostle make another renowned statement “for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”
You see, unto everything under heaven, there is a time.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
When we sow, we ought not to think by the next moment we should reap. There is a time to sow and there is a time to reap.
Ecclesiastes 3:2
“a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted”
This is how the kingdom of God operates. There is a time to plant and there is a time to pluck up that which is planted.
In between the time of sowing and the time of reaping, there is a growing up period where the seed sown grows up to bear fruits.
Even if its money sown to reap a financial harvest, there is still a time period required for the harvest.
It does not matter what the seed is sown for, the word sown could be for healing, financial prosperity, Joy, peace and just whatsoever. As long as it is in God’s kingdom, it follows the kingdom principle.
The procedure is explained to us in the verses below:
Mark 4:26-29
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
Observe the statement “he knoweth not how”
This is why we are admonished to not be weary. The specifics of how God is going to fulfill his word, many a times, the time of manifestation is not given to us.
Most times, before the harvest, God is dealing with the root system, refining us to carry the weight of the harvest, or allowing the seed to establish deeper and firm roots to be able to carry the weight of the glory it will produce.
We may not know how God is going to give unto us the harvest, but one thing we know is that, God cannot be mocked, “for in due season we shall reap if we faint not”
Then the apostle continues;
Galatians 6:10
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Observe the statement “As we have therefore opportunity”
If God has placed us in a position to be of help to others “let us do good unto all men”
Not just to our friends, relations or to our acquaintances, but to all men.
Where you come from may be your opportunity, the family you are born from may be your opportunity, your job may be your occasion to do good to others.
Every opportunity we have in life has been placed upon us by God, and as faithful stewards of the manifold grace of God, it is an opportunity for us to minister his love to others “especially unto them who are of the household of faith “
In an encounter with the Lord as I was meditating upon these scriptures, I heard the Lord say these words to a beloved “My child, I AM acquainted with the feeling of what you are going through. The adversary desires for you to faint which is the reason for the heat upon you.
But be strong, continue on the path you are on. Do not be weary in all the good you do in my name. I have not left you, and I AM not unrighteous to forget your labour of love.
You may not know how, but I AM multiplying the harvest of every seed you’ve sown, and your life I AM filling with a glorious harvest.
