Discovering Christ In Ephesians.

We saw from our last discussion that we all are graced with divine gifts to manifest God to his creation. That he ascended on high leading captivity captive and gave gifts unto men.

Then the apostle continues;

(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? Ephesians 4:9

Yes, the Lord Jesus descended from his lofty abode, from the beauty and glory of heaven to a very mean abode even as this earth. This is the highest humiliation for God to bear. The heavens are higher than the earth, the earth became cursed after the sin of Adam.

God leaving his Holy and righteous throne to walk the earth, to take the body of a man, and to die by the hand of his own creation is the greatest humiliation ever seen. This is what it means by he descended to the lowest parts of the earth. (Psalm 139:15).

Then we hear;

He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) Ephesians 4:10

It is the same Jesus who descended who has also ascended up and not another. The same Lord that came down and put on the body of a man, is the same one that ascended up “far above all heavens”

He ascended up far above all physical heavens to the holiest, even the third heaven to appear before God for the ungodly. That he ascended it is but ” that he might fill all things”

The Greek word translated for fill above is the word πληρόω – plēroō and it means to make replete that is (literally) to cram (a net) level up (a hollow) or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue diffuse influence) satisfy, execute (an office) finish (a period or task) verify (or coincide with a prediction ( Strong’s Concordance G4137).

This is saying the Lord Jesus ascended into the Holiest just like the old testament high priests would do to make replete all things, his incarnate life through his sufferings and death fulfilled a lot of things as it concerns the redemption of sensible sinners as you and I, but his ascension leveled up all things.

The blood presented before the the mercy seat, eternally satisfied the demands of Justice before the tribunal of God for you and I. His ascension finished the work of redemption and stamped the unqualified verified righteous before the righteousness of God.

As the eternal being, his sacrifice has filled past, present and future demands of the Justice of God. And since He ascended to the holiest, presenting a one time sacrifice for all sins, fulfilling every jot of the requirement of the law, men are today qualified by this work to receive gifts from the sovereign Lord.

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Ephesians 4:11

This is what many call the five-fold ministry. These are God’s gifts to men. These are the custodians of the mysteries of the gospel. They are all unique and each is as important to the Body as the other. And they all are given:

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians 4:12

“for the perfecting of the saints,” this is the duty of these gifts God gave to the body of Christ. They are to renew, complete, and settle the saints in their inheritance in Christ.

Though all saints have perfection in their spirit as a gift, yet in our souls we lack the total knowledge of God. Hence, there is need for perfection.

The work of these Gifts to the Body of Christ is not for entertainment, neither is it measly for motivation. But for doctrinal perfection.

A lot of what we see today is just mere amusement. A mere religious razzmatazz. Because many of us have neglected our duty, an average Christian today does not truly understand simple truths of salvation. Talk more of availing himself for “The work of the ministry”

Saints are to be perfected by the prophets, apostles, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the work of the ministry. This is saying every saint is called to the work of the ministry. Everyone is given grace and gifts which we saw in our last discussion, and at the return of the Lord, all are going to give account!

You see, if you are busy motivating people, gaining acceptance and are not actually preparing people for ministerial work, you may just have gone the way of Balaam. These offices are not a title, but a place of great responsibility.

And if you are Christian and have not submitted yourself to be discipled, where you are perfected for the work of the ministry, please do for this is God’s counsel for you.

There is something God has invested in you to profit his kingdom. Remember, no matter how little you may feel your gift is, we all must give an account to how we all invested our gifts and talents in the expansion of his kingdom.

You are to be perfected for the work of the ministry so you can be used ” for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

CONFESSION:
Blessed father, thank you for what you have done for me in Christ. His ascension has satisfied every demand of Justice over my life. He ascended and is appearing before your mercy seat for me, an announcement that I am in his blood complete, for as he is, so are am I in this world.

Thank you for your gifts to the Body, thank you for what they are already doing, I pray for divine effectiveness and truth to your call be manifested more evidently in their lives. And I pray for all saints for the grace to accept these gifts even more.

I pray for humility and submission to increase among all saints, that your call to service be effectuated in each life. Strengthen those that are already in your counsel. Thank you dear Lord for you have already answered me in Christ. In Jesus mighty name, Amen!

PROPHETIC INSIGHT:

In an encounter with the Lord, I heard “Do not be afraid, the darkness and light are same unto me. The law of the Spirit of life is at work in your life, and sin and death have no place any longer.

What you see is the old leaving, for I have made a new and living way erupting for you my child. Keep standing strong, at the end of it all, you will not be put to shame, for I have placed you under my law of life”

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2

Discovering Christ In Ephesians.

We saw from our last discussion that there is one God, who is the father of spirits, the source of all creation, who is through all and in us all.

Then the apostle continues:

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:7

Every Christian is given free grace. The undeserved favour of God is liberally poured upon us all without distinction. The grace of justification, sanctification, perseverance, adoption, and pardoning grace.

Then we are all given ministerial grace, the divine influences of the Holy Spirit is also freely distributed to each and every one of us freely.

Observe the last part of the verse “according to the measure of the gift of Christ”

Every Christian is given the manifestation of divinity. We are all given the measure of Christ to manifest on this side of the journey.

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 1 Corinthians 12:7

Every Christian has a gift to which he is to profit the Body of Christ. It is a lie of the enemy for you to think you have no supernatural gift. As long as you are born of God, there is a dimension of God you carry that you are to manifest to his creation.

There are gifts that many Christians have that are seeds God has planted in them to change the world, but they have not realized it yet.

We have for a long time placed more emphasis on the gifts of healing, miracles, prophecy and the rest mentioned in 1Cor.12.

But they are more gifts of grace mentioned in Romans aside the ones mentioned in 1Cor. 12 which are also the manifestation of diverse aspects of God.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:6-8

Ministering is a gift, teaching is a gift, exhorting or encouraging others is a divine gift, giving is a gift of divinity, ruling or governance is a divine gift, showing mercy to people is a gift of grace and these are all in the same category with prophecy and the other highly estimated gifts.

All these are supernatural gifts bestowed on us to affect our generation. These are seeds of God’s greatness in us. In God’s eyes no gift is small, for there is no part of God’s life that is lower in value. You see, It all depends on where we have placed our importance.

God has ordained that these gifts of grace which he has given to each one of us for the profit of all should open doors or make room for us in life.

When we neglect our gifts by comparing ourselves with those we estimate have the higher gifts, we leave our sphere of dominance, and close our own doors to greatness by our lack of faith.

A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16

There is a seed of God on you inside, there is the gift of grace on your inside that God has ordained should open doors for you, and should bring you before the great. It is actually your seed to greatness.

Dear beloved, no matter how small you think your gift may be, it is unique to your personality. No one is given the manifestation of God in full, hence, no matter how you think your gift is small you are highly needed. Do not burry your gold in the dust.

Your kidneys are small but crucial to your staying alive, without them you cannot live, even so it is with every man’s gift, the destinies of many are tied to your gift. You agift if meant to profit us all.

You are special. There is a special grace on your life. You have to know it and contribute your quoter in the expansion of God’s kingdom.

You have to know it, grow it so you can open doors of greatness with it, for of a truth we all have gifts according to the manifold grace of God:

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Ephesians 4:8

Christ died, rose from the the dead, and ascended up on high, leading you captive in the power of his love and bestowing divine gifts to help you accomplish his purpose upon your life.

CONFESSION:
Blessed God, blessed father, I AM grateful, your death, burial and resurrection has procured for me life and opened the door for me to receive gifts to manifest divinity.

The manifestation of your Spirit is given to me. I have a unique portion of God to manifest before creation. I declare, my entire being is tuned to your gifts on my inside.

I proclaim, I am functioning in the wisdom, faith, power, mercy, and fullness of God now and beyond in Jesus mighty Name. Amen!

PROPHETIC INSIGHT:

In an encounter with the Lord, I saw a prophetic picture, I saw sons of God in battle. They escaped to a sea and got into a boat as the enemies kept on pursuing.

As these sons of God fought these enemies from getting into the boat, suddenly they all came to the edge of the boat and stood at the edge, wondering if they were ever going to survive, watching out to see if the enemies were to appear again from under the water.

As they stood at the edge of the boat and wondered, I heard the Lord say “It is over, do not be afraid”

Coming out of this encounter, I was led to the story of Peter and the apostles in the boat under the boisterous winds as they were terrified by the contrary winds.

As they wondered what would befall them, they saw the saviour walking on water, who then said to them “Do not be afraid, it is I” Mathew 14:26-32

Then I heard the Lord say “My Child, You may be on the edge, where it looks to you as though it is your end, but you are never without me. I AM in the midst of this, do not be afraid. You shall not sink but prevail!

What you fear is over. Arise and walk on water, Your enemies are defeated. You have escaped, and I AM now moving you forward.

Discovering Christ In Ephesians.

We saw from our last discussion that there is but one Lord, one faith and one baptism.

Then the apostle continues:

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:6

One God who is the uncreated, eternal, all-powerful, all-sufficient, perfect, all-knowing, the independent being, the father of the spirits of men, elect angels and demonic spirits, the father of Christ.

Who alone is God in truth and reality, every other deity is figurative and not God by nature.

You see, when you are created a woman, you have features patterning to only your nature as a woman. For instance, a woman has a womb, a man does not, there is nothing in life you can do to make a man have a womb.

So is the uncreated God, He is God alone, there is none besides him, and there is none like him, no one can do what he does. He is above all, rules over all, and can never be subject to none.

He is through all by Providence, for he quickens, animates or gives life to all things, both spiritual and physical;

I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 1 Timothy 6:13

This means that Satan and every devil you can ever imagine, moves, lives and functions by the supply of God’s life. God is daily, moment by moment supplying existence, vigour to all things.

This is why it is impossible to defeat the counsel of God. How can the formed vessel say to him that formed it, what are you doing? Or why have you formed me like this?

You see, when we come to know the only God as the source, all our fears fade off. Our consciences become purified from the fear of demons and other figurative gods.

It is our lack of revelation of Who our God is and what it means to be truly God that defiles our conscience and empowers or open the door to fear and other attacks.

Observe the verses below;

But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. 1 Corinthians 8:6-7

Unto us there are no gods, we are free from that fear, we live in Christ the one true God, who lives in us, quickening us, quickening the entire universe, spiritual and physical, hence, ruling over all. Our God reigns!

CONFESSION:

Heavenly Father I thank you for being my God, the one and only true God. Besides you nothing exists! My God, My source. You are above all my fears, therefore, all my cares I cast them over to you.

Thank you because you are giving life to my body, life to my finances, life to all things that pertain to my life. I reject fear and anxiety and enjoy the freedom of Christ in me. Hallelujah!

PROPHETIC INSIGHT: By Dorcas Ahua

In an encounter with the Lord, I saw some children of the Lord in a gathering as they were mocked by the enemy. I saw people under the influence of the devil as they spoke against these children of God. “Where is your God? You have trusted him let him save you now!”

As they made advances against the sons of God, these sons of God called down the fire of God, and I saw as the fire of the Holy Spirit literally fell and consumed those mocking!

I was led to:

Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness. Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets. Micah 7:7-10

Then the Lord said, say to Zion, “Keep looking unto me beloved ones, wait upon your God, wait for my salvation, for I have heard your cries.

The enemy will not rejoice over you because I AM raising you up out of the darkness you have found yourselves. The blood of my son has pleaded your case and in my righteousness I am now executing vengeance against all your adversaries. I AM now bringing you out to the light.

Your enemies shall see it, those that have mocked at your faith and trust in your God shall be ashamed. Those things that have asked, where is your God? Shall be trodden down as the mire of the streets, and your eyes shall behold their fall!”

Discovering Christ In Ephesians.

We saw from our last discussion that there is one Body, one Spirit and one hope to which we are called.

Then the apostle continues;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Ephesians 4:5

There exists only one Lord, even Christ the Lord over his Church. He is the Lord and saviour of his body. The word “Lord” used above is appropriate for the Christ to whom God has laid the government of the Church upon his shoulders.

This is why it is insufficient to proclaim Jesus as saviour without summiting to his lordship. When Christ is the Lord of your life, he is lord of all.

This is where you look to him for direction, purpose, righteousness, holiness, redemption, and every spiritual blessing.

You are completely given to his course that you only go where he sends, do what he bids, and are always where he is.

Then we hear “one faith.” There is but one faith and this grace of faith is a fruit of the spirit of God functioning in a man (Galatians 5:22). This is why we ought to be grateful, and filled with Thanksgiving that we are even saved at all.

God has never been under any obligation to grant to us the gift of faith so we would believe in him, that we have faith in Christ is altogether a miracle and a thing of absolute praise and glory to God.

Look around you and see thousands under the illusion of psychology, Science, humanism, and other fictive beliefs. That we are saved at all is a thing of continuous praise to the grace of God.

Then we hear “one baptism “

This is a little tricky one so pay close attention. In Christendom, there is but one baptism having three operations, and each of these operations is individually called baptism, the same way we have one God operating in three personalities, and each of these personalities is called God.

Denying the ministry of one will ruin you of the full benefits of salvation. Observe carefully this verse below;

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. Hebrews 6:2

Note the word “baptisms” above which is put in the plural form. An announcement that there are baptisms.

We have Christian baptism which is to accept Christ as Lord and savior, where we are crucified with him, dead, buried, and are raised together with him in new life (Romans 6: 3-4).

Then we have water baptism which is an outward ordinance, a testimony of what has happened to us in the Spirit (Mathew 3:11). Same way holy communion is a proclamation of what Christ has done for us.

Then we have the Holy Ghost baptism. This is where we become endued, overwhelmed in the Holy Spirit, enveloped in God’s supernatural power by his Spirit. (Acts 1:5, Acts 8:5-17)

So there is one baptism having three operations and each of these operations are individually called baptism.

To refuse the baptism of the Holy Spirit after we have received the baptism into the name of Jesus otherwise called Christian baptism is to all together reject the full benefits of redemption at this other side of life.

PRAYER:

Father, May Christ not only be my saviour, but may he be Lord over my life. Help me to be totally submissive to his government, and to rest secured in his wisdom and power.

Help me to only go where he sends, do what he bids, and to always be found where he is glorified.

Help me to walk humbly in the faith of God, always abounding in thanksgiving for the grace to even believe in you. And may I be full of God through your Spirit in Jesus name! Amen.

PROPHETIC INSIGHT:

In an encounter with the Lord, I saw someone who was being chased by the enemy. It looked like there was absolutely no way of escape as the enemy was determined to bring this one down.

But I saw as the Lord intervened, and snatched this one out from the road, and hid this beloved in a place the enemy could not find.

I was led to:

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 2 Corinthians 1:9-10

Then I heard the Lord say “Do not be afraid, but keep your eyes on your God as you continue to run on. This is not the end, but it is to help lift your eyes beyond your capacity to Me, your sufficiency.

I AM well able to deliver, and as I have delivered you in time past, even now I AM delivering you from this one, and will yet continue to deliver. Only let your faith rest in my sufficiency, and not in your ability.”

Discovering Christ In Ephesians.

We saw from our last discussion as the apostle admonished the Ephesians in view of all the Love God has poured upon them, to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith they are called.

Then the apostle continues;

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; Ephesians 4:4

The Church universal is one body. Even though we may have several congregations, we are one body, even the body of Christ. We are the family of God, the Church of the firstborn whose names are written in heaven.

Here there is no Jew nor Gentile, there is no black nor White, but we together are one body. Partakers of one blood, even the blood of Jesus.

We ought not to be ashamed of our brothers when they appear in diverse colours, for Christ our God is not ashamed to be called our brother. He has admitted us into his own flesh and blood, and has united us to his own very life.

Then we hear ” and one Spirit”

This is a very deep statement. You see, God the father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit is one Spirit. You will never find the Holy Spirit separate from the Spirit of Christ, neither will you find the Spirit of the father separate from the Holy Spirit.

There are no two spirits in the Godhead. There is Only Spirit and the LORD is that Spirit.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:17

You see, when you become born again, your animal nature, otherwise called your human spirit which was inherited from Adam’s sin, a corrupt spirit, is totally kicked out.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6

That body of sin is crucified and destroyed. It is not going to be crucified. It is crucified the moment we accept Jesus.

Then our outer man otherwise called the body becomes united with Christ, therefore we become one Spirit with Christ;

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17

You don’t have your Spirit and the Spirit of God dwelling together in one body. No never. God becomes your Spirit.

The old man which was your human nature is yanked out. The “he ” in the verse above speaks only of the outer man, the body. There is the outer man and the inner man.

Paul knew this and declared:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Observe the statement “yet not I, but Christ liveth in me”

The moment you become born again, you cease to exist, God becomes your very nature, even your own very Spirit. When you hear “you” in many places in scripture it speaks only of the outer man, that is the body (Romans 7:18)

All God’s promises are yes and Amen in Christ, the moment you accept the promise of eternal life, you become a partaker of the divine nature;

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:4

We have escaped the corrupt nature of Adam which is subject to the lust of the devil.

We are now partakers of the divine nature. One body and one Spirit with Christ! Hallelujah.

Just imagine what it would look like if you truly believe you no longer live, but your very nature, your very Spirit is God.

Just imagine what it would look like if you truly believe you no longer exist, but God is manifest in your flesh, same way he was manifest in Christ.

Will depression still have a stronghold? Will sickness still remain in that body? Will fear and anxiety still get a grip on you?

The Lord help us to grasp our divine reality in Christ.

Confession:
Gracious father I thank you for your great power manifested in my salvation. Today I am joined to the Lord, one body, one spirit, and one life.

I have the life of God in body, I cannot be sick, I reject sickness and disease. I have the life of God in my finances, I am provisioned.

I have the life of God in my soul, I cannot be depressed. I have the Spirit of power and of a sound mind, I reject the spirit of fear and anxiety, in Jesus gracious name. Amen!.

Prophetic Insight:

In an encounter with the Lord, I saw a Child of God in God’s counsel making some decisions, but I saw as this one became afraid of the outcome, and was doubting the steps already taken, feeling as though to withdraw from what the Lord had actually prompted.

As I saw this and pressed on, I heard the Lord say “I have put my desires in you, and have promoted you to act. Do not look back, do not be anxious of what the future holds. For I know my thoughts in your heart. Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a prosperous outcome.

Stay focused and full of faith, do not look back, for you shall not be disappointed, I AM giving you a prosperous outcome.”

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:13

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11
